Compliance & Safety

Yes we test both 3-phase equipment and RCDs as part of our advanced electrical safety service. Many small tagging companies skip these because they require specialised equipment and knowledge, but they’re critical parts of a compliant electrical environment. 3-Phase Testing: We use dedicated 3-phase adaptors to test appliances and leads up to 32 A. Each phase is individually checked for earth continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity to ensure full compliance with AS/NZS 3760. RCD (Safety Switch) Testing: We perform trip-time testing portable RCDs to confirm that they disconnect the circuit quickly enough to prevent electric shock. The results are recorded and documented on your test report. This ensures your entire workplace not just the plug-in appliances meets the same high standard of electrical safety.

Worksafe Queensland mandates test and tag frequencies for electrical equipment based on factors like the environment and risk level. For example, amusement rides must be tested every 6 months or after each on-site assembly, while office equipment requires testing every 5 years if protected by a safety switch. We keep up-to-date with all regulations to ensure the right test and tag intervals:

Amusement devices and rides are tested every 6 months or after each onsite assembly.

Double insulated amusement equipment is tested every 12 months.

Construction and manufacturing tools are tested every 3-6 months.

Office equipment is tested every 5 years (or more frequently without a safety switch).

Rural equipment used under stated risk factors is tested every 12 months if no safety switch.

By adhering to government-regulated testing schedules, customers can trust we will identify electrical faults early on across various equipment and workplaces. We will make sure that your home or business will remain compliant with the latest safety standards and legal requirements. Staying compliant means you avoid safety incidents, legal problems and business disruptions down the track.
Staying compliant means you avoid safety incidents, legal problems and business disruptions down the track.

Under Queensland law (Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 + WHS laws), you must regularly inspect and test specified electrical equipment and safety switches to ensure they remain safe for use. The law requires: The person doing the testing must be competent (trained, skilled) Tests must occur at intervals appropriate to the equipment, environment, and use Failed equipment must be removed or repaired by a licensed person, and clearly marked as unsafe Records of inspections, tests and tags (or other identifiers) must be kept We follow the guidelines of the AS/NZS 3760 standard (and where relevant AS/NZS 3012) as the accepted method to carry out inspection, testing and tagging — so you can rely on those intervals and procedures as best practice. Because the law is risk-based rather than “every appliance must be tagged exactly every year,” we design a program that fits your workplace, ensures compliance, and documents everything properly.
